A very detailed and precise (based on the topography) description of your land is included in the land deeds. This establishes specific and correct ownership along with freehold title of all property on that land.
-
There is an accurate and official land registry in Greece and you will be recorded in this as the new owner - after the exchange of contracts. The original deeds will be retained by the Public Notary. There will be an official copy deposited at the specified land registry office (dependent on specific location of the land) and the other official copy will be given to you by the lawyer.
-
NOTE: As part of the purchase process your lawyer will carry out a search at the land registry to ensure clear title, ensure there are no boundary issues and that the land is free of all debt/mortgages etc. |
